  • Worked on a J2EE transaction application for handling gift card programs; creating new system features and fixing bugs. Built new XML APIs.
  • Created custom Apache/MySql/PHP client sites. Designed and built MySql schema for web application. Implemented XML API with the J2EE server. Brought system up to security standards (SOX, SAS70, CISSP) for certifications keeping with OWASP recommendations.
  • Worked closely with various departments, including requirements gathering from product/business teams, writing test plans with QA, writing deployment documentation/scripts for operations, and communicating needs to systems administration. Helped put best practices and processes into place during transtion from startup, such as true requirements documents, design documents, code reviews, and release notes.
  • CNET Networks - San Francisco, Senior Software Engineer, 1996 - 2003

  • Wrote JavaBean components and their JUnit tests during migration from legacy system to J2EE platform. Implementation used Model 2/MVC architecture, similar to, but developed before, the Struts framework. Created and deployed builds using Ant.
  • Team lead for JSP developers. Built controller servlet for handling requests. Created custom tags for retrieving content and other tasks. Wrote presentation libraries based on content types. Managed Tomcat and Weblogic appservers.
  • Participated in design and implementation of many systems, including content management, database and Apache mods.
